Entrance Exams are held by Management Institutes for
admission of candidates to their respective Management
Programmes. There are MBA Entrance Exams which are conducted
at state level and some MBA Entrance Exams are held
at national level. The MBA Entrance Exams which are
held at national and international level, those exam
scores are accepted by all the participating institutions.
The objective behind Written MBA Entrance Exam is to
judge quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretive
skills of the candidate. It has generally following
sections in the test -
- Verbal Communication - aims to test the candidate's
comprehension of and interpretative abilities in English
as a language of business
- Math ability - aims to test the candidate's understanding
of Basic Mathematics
- Data Analysis - aims to assess the ability of the
examinee to make valid interpretations from a given
data set
- Logical Reasoning - This section consists of analytical
reasoning, argument analysis, and analysis of explanation
questions.

Some of the Top MBA entrance exams are -
- The Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is conducted
by any one university out 13 Universities in Andhra Pradesh.
Successful candidates of ICET get the chance to apply for
MBA and MCA courses in various universities and institutes
affiliated with University of Andhra Pradesh.
- Rajasthan Management Admission Test (RMAT) is used for
admitting students to MBA courses offered by all institutions.
- The Professional Examination Board (Madhya Pradesh) conducts
the Joint Entrance Test for admissions to MBA and allied
courses in all management institutions.
- The Directorate of Technical Education (Maharashtra) conducts
Common Entrance Test (CET).
- Uttar Pradesh Government has introduced the Uttar Pradesh
Management Common Admission Test (UPMCAT), several universities
such as Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University,
University of Roorkee conduct their own tests.
- IGNOU conducts OPENMAT for admission to its management
programmes.
- Five Indian Institutes of Technology (Kharagpur, Kanpur,
Delhi and Mumbai) and the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore)
conduct a Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET)
- The six Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) conduct
the Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to all their
courses.
- The scores of Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted
by the All India Management Association are accepted by
many institutions including several universities
