The
Aligarh Muslim University is one of the oldest premier Central
Universities of India with a unique and rich culture of
its own. It owes its existence to the selfless and untiring
efforts of the great visionary Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. AMU
occupies an exalted position among Indian Universities and
its contribution to nation building is in no way inferior
to the best among the lot. It attracts students from all
over the world, especially Africa, West Asia and South East
Asia.
AMU
is a pioneer in introducing Maagement education in the country.
The journey begin in 1969, with a 3 years Diploma in Business
administration in the Faculty of Commerce. A Master of Business
Admininstration ( MBA) was introduced in 1972 and a separate
Department of Business Administration was established. Master's
Programme focusing on International business - MBA (IB),
was started in 1993.

Bachelor's
degree (3-year) or equivalent in any discipline. Admission
to all courses is based on an Aligarh Muslim University
(AMU) MBA Entrance exam, group discussion, and personal
interview. Fees is approx. Rs 1 lac
(inclusive hostel charges)

Maulana
Azad Library is regarded as second largest University Library
of Asia with more than 11.5 lakh books/documents. The library
provides the whole university campus wide access to online
journals through a well-equipped Computer Lab. Digital Resources
on many subjects are made accessible through a Digital Resource
Centre. The department is in the process of buiding up an
Integrated Management Complex that shall have state of the
art academic infrastructure.
